Maybe time for another clue although it might give it away.

In a sense the best guess so far is Skegness, although not necessarily in terms of geographical proximity

Cleethorpes is correct.

Service is to King's Cross via Lincoln St Marks and Newark. A year or two before you might have seen one of these (seen at the terminal end of the platforms).

It looks like the car park been resurfaced and they've run out of white (or yellow) paint for the road line painter!

My "line" of thinking...
Southern Railway "Exmouth Junction" style concrete fencing.
The architecture is I believe "Mock Gothic" which was much favoured by the LSWR.
I therefore consider it is one of the stations west of Basingstoke but at present unsure which one...? I may have of course be completely wrong..!!!
(As I just going out for part of the day I will leave for others to consider further)

You're definitely right about it being west of Basingstoke.
It's not Tilehurst Merthyr Imp.
