The signal is plated as L. I think that rules out the Brighton main line south of Selhurst. The NSE livery is faded, which suggests the unit is a few years old, so it is either one of the few which were allocated to the South Central Division at the start of privatisation or a Thameslink unit on a Brighton or Sutton working. Herne Hill?

The upper quadrant signals suggest it is not GWR. I can't think of anywhere left on the Waterloo-Exeter or Weymouth lines that are plausible. Therefore, I think it is off teritory and hence could be anywhere. Boston?
