What was it doing up there? Also, I thought Aberdare had buildings...? I must be in the wrong decade.

I was close with that pronunciation. :)

That was the year it re-opened can't remember without checking possible 88 or 89. There was no ticket office when it first opened. It is now on the left of the picture half way down the platform.

Also on my list of questions is why the hell didn't I just work my way around the top of the valleys until I got close enough rather than ending up naming everything?!!

Checking your link, the photo is of Maesteg. Whereas my answer was Maesteg (Ewenny Road).

Does that count as void as you revealed the answer technically before the correct answer was mentioned? :)
