As for TBW's shot: I really don't know - the only stations that would have that colour scheme and be in that rural area are either the HoW or the Esk Valley. It isn't Glaisdale, Battersby or Nunthorpe, not is it Grosmont, and it doesn't look like any of the four loops on the HoW either...

So it's on a line out of Edinburgh but not one with Larbert on it. It is clearly north of Edinburgh and as far as I know 170s don't go to Glasgow Central (I could be wrong on this, I don't really keep up with plastic units).
