I was talking North-East as in north York. Your latest clue hints at Yorkshire, which makes sense because I can't think of many places in the North-West that fit. If I get this, it may well be through elimination or luck. Church Fenton (seems unlikely, but you never know)?

Shouldn't need to rely on Wikipedia ;)

Wakefield Kirkgate and Church Fenton, as well the not-so-genuine guesses of Southport and Ripon, are wrong. As is Canterbury North Lane!

It appears to be a Thwaites sign, which suggests Blackburn area. In fact, has anyone said the new Blackburn. I'll say it now. Blackburn?

I'm clutching an ever decreasing number of straws, and will inevitably kick myself when someone else gets it. Swinton?

How about Blackpool North

Git.

Blackpool North becomes only the second station I have put up on more than one occasion. This shot was taken looking towards the south; my first was towards the north. The section I uploaded is the part beyond the 185 to the right of the picture. You can actually make out "Blackpool North" if you look hard enough; I certainly could! :?

Anybody recognise the pub? :)

Now there's an idea! So I typed into Google (while wearing my Dunce Hat)
'uk breweries gold logo' because that's what I can see either side of the name.

Result: Top 5 British Brewery Logos: No. 1: Jennings

Now I don't know but I reckon that's a Jennings logo either side of the name on that pub. So... where do Jennings operate?

The Lake District!

Doh.

EDIT: Erm, oooookkkaaayyy, I wouldn't have put Blackpool into the Lake District myself... :D hehe. Well done Track Basher!

I have just kicked myself. Let's see if Track Basher can come up with something considerably more obscure and hence easier, as I obviously can't handle the obvious.

I'm sure Matt E would not have said Blackburn had he answered, because he would know that it isn't. Sorry ;)

Indeed. I spent about 10 minutes studying the picture and answers before, that type of sheltering/canopy is quite common round here, and the short nameboard suggests it isn't more than about 10 characters long.

I think this may be 4-track looking at the overhead, though it is a narrow picture. Great Eastern, perhaps? Hackney Downs?

White train in the picture, looks kind of like a non-gangway Electrostar, OHLE, city background, looks like a viaduct, thin platforms, frequent poles, etc. Only ever going to be one answer for me. And that's before I get to the fact it I would recognise that from a mile away! I've used it enough

In fact, I was so sure I was right that I have already edited my next poser for you! I took the time whilst waiting for your response to prepare it...

I actually said Limehouse out loud as soon as I noticed the 357 in the pic. Good thing no-one was around

I am ashamed to say though that I do not have a perfect record with the LTS route. Remember that Upminster one from some time ago, with the 85 (I think) in it? Where I missed the D stock in the background that should have made it a banker?
