I'll take the floor.

In case I have to go away, and to avoid a repeat of last time, I have sent a PM with the answer to transportphoto, who can announce it if I am gone.

Popper, why were they filming in Bromley North (yes, almost five days ago I know ;))?

I haven't read every single post as that could take years, so sorry if I've missed something obvious.

I asked the filming guys and they said it was something to do with a sky advert. Have searched the net for ages to find the actual advert (the filming took place in 2010) but to no avail. :(

If you want more photos go to this link:

MattE did that one some time ago and left it with me when he had to leave; I recognised it from that! :D

I will have to be more careful! :D

Anyway, with regards to the picture, I'll guess Welwyn.

Easy! Crediton.

I may have missed it in the rules in the first post, but is there any sort of rules for locals? Obviously I'd get a picture of most Devon stations immediately, which might spoil the fun for others, especially since I don't have much to offer in the way of questions/pictures as yet.

Anyway, open floor.

I would post another but I'm running short of time. I'm off to London in the next fifteen minutes, so it's open floor from me as well.

None at all. You are right about the annoyance factor though! We have all had that situation; I for instance got one of Southend Central just like that when everyone else was struggling horribly. Even worse was one of Avoncliff, which I first called as being in Scotland - until MattE2010 (whose picture it was) said I would kick myself. After that, it lasted seconds.

I had high hopes for that, but that's the risk you take!

P.S.: I would recommend against putting "Easy!" unless you are sure others would also find it easy. Something like "As though I wouldn't get that!", though, sounds much better.

Thanks

I would agree, but it wouldn't be fair to enforce it now; you can't disqualify something because of a rule that is invented during its use! After this E* pic, I would go with that.

And to be honest, it would be necessary, because I haven't the faintest of clues as to which stations are staggered! Thus, this will have to be a completely wild guess.

Acton Main Line (North Pole depot being the gaggle of wires)? I'm pretty sure that doesn't work though :(

By the way, for this "Mod Squad" (what Mojo et al will make of it I don't know!), I would suggest a team of six, based on (a) number of posts in the thread, (b) length of time on the forum, (c) potential importance to the thread and forum as a whole, and (d) seniority within the forum. Thus, I would suggest the following (debate at will guys :D; members listed in alphabetical order for fairness):

4SRKT, Ivo, MattE2010, Matt Taylor, Track Basher, transportphoto

(Five of the top six post-wise and also the OP)

If increased to eight, I would also suggest atomicdanny and one of IanPooleTrains, paulravuslante and steamybrian.

Sounds fair.

I think this is getting too elitist now. This thread started off as a bit of fun, guess the station, person who get's it right posts another photo. Recently though (and I mean since New Year) it has been getting more officious, and more playing devices have exited the perambulator more and more times.
It's a bit of fun - some people are taking it way too seriously, complaining if a photo hasn't been posted (people do have lives you know..), and complaining if the person who posted doesn't reply the instant someone gets it correct. But this Mod Squad idea takes it to a whole new level? Is it really necessary?

I think it is time for a reminder that this is a fun thread, and some are trying too hard to turn it into a serious competition. It won't be long before you lot want the photos sent to you beforehand for pre-approval.

Lighten up!

Back to the job in hand, the picture.

It's Crewe

I am with Ralph on the mod argument. This should be a bit of fun. On the whole it works well and everyone is sensible. Let's just go with the flow.
