Actually, yes, it's platform 2. The fence behind gives it away; it's just past the bridge out of the station on the northeast side.

Hmm...Looking at the photo, I see an SWT 158|9 passing an island platform (As opposed to passing along an obvious "up main") with a background that doesn't immediateley look like it'd match any station between Waterloo and Basingstoke. :?

So - Though I can't make a half decent guess at this one - I'm going to stab a guess that the station lies somewhere west of Basingstoke...Possibly between Basingstoke and Salisbury?

Which would mean it's not Andover 'cos everything stops there. It's a while since I've been down that way, but it doesn't look like Overton, Whitchurch or Grateley to me.:-x

IT may be an SWT 158 but don't forget folks there are four strays ie..2 With Northern that ran round for a week or two in Stagecoach Livery and there 158881 (Jimmy) & 158882 (Davina) On loan to EMT so could be somewhere in those areas.

Doesn't look like this one has been solved. The platform has thrown me because I did think it was in front of the Princess street gardens and the unit involved was 158786 or 789 before the were repainted. Maybe it still is before the line disappears under the mound tunnel!

If it is Waverley I guess the unit coming into platform 19, with the gardens behind the unit.

That's it almost exactly, it was 786 (i think) before it was repainted, but it's leaving platform 20 heading towards haymarket, with princes street gardens behind
