It's a Narita Express - not sure on the exact flavour but guessing at 253 series.

Otaku in my case mostly comes from Anime

Close (in terms of the type of service you were thinking about). It isn't a N'EX but this train was operating from another of Japan's airports. It wasn't on the dedicated airport express though as another (similar) type of train operates the express service.

I know nothing much about trains over in Europe, but this looks decidedly European. I think I can see something that looks like a yellow and blue train in the background, so would this be from The Netherlands?

Thanks. Now you've confirmed that, it is indeed much easier. It would be some sort of service contracted out to a private company. A quick bit of research on my favourite website shows that it would be operated by Connexxion. Apparently it is the Protos train. Seems to be a fairly rare train.

Yes it's the Connexxion Protos - a very rare (only six built) train running on one short line only in Holland between Ede Wageningen and Amersfoort (and a train supplemented on that line for a time by a 1960s Mat '64 unit while the rebuilt Prototype underwent testing).
