. I took that picture nearly 25 years ago, in the year after deregulation.The livery was short lived, and the bus station where the bus is waiting has been replaced by a housing estate and a supermarket car park

It is to the south of Carlisle (now there's a not very helpful clue, except it rules out Scotland!)
I am expecting someone to recognise the rather odd livery, but perhaps there is no-one on the forum who is as old as me and remembers it.

about 1 ! It was the first post-privatisation livery, prior to the orange being replaced by cream.
I liked it, but it wasn't popular with other people
