I was, but the bus station there is much more modest than this one.

Not Dundee, but I do concede that's its Scottish. (The word "stance", rather than "stand" is a bit of a giveaway, I think, in that regard)

Not Falkirk.

Nor Ayr! I'll see if I can up with any clues that are helpful but not too obvious...

I don't know. Its in the general theme of wild potshots (I don't particularly know Scotland that well, I've only been a couple of times)
Inverness?

None of the above.

This town does have a Scottish League football team, who play in the same division as teams in at least three of the incorrect guesses so far.

No, it's on the coast. It's the sort of place where you might hear some talk of dancing on the streets, I suppose.

Also, the town's most famous son is an economist, who (possibly incongruously) has a public theatre named after him there.

Well, to be fair, there were few clues in the picture (at least once I'd blocked out the name of the shopping centre nextdoor.) But, yes, Kirkcaldy. (Bonus points if you pronounce it correctly)

That took long enough  'Twas the first one to hit double figures!

Before I finally said Kirkcaldy I had had 13 straight incorrect answers

See what you make of this one...

Will be back to check a bit later.

That... was a long shower

It's not Oakham. Or anywhere else that begins with a vowel. But it is in England, and not in the Home Counties either.

Not Runcorn.

A little warning: My Internet is playing silly buggers again. I've also got some planning to do (for a certain meet next month )...

The two last guesses have been on the correct side of the Mersey. And I will add that there is a direct rail connection to Liverpool available within half a mile.
