Hi

I have recently applied for a train guards position with SWT based at Guidford.

I have been given an idea of the shift pattern but would like to some idea of a daily guards schedual of work ie typical daily train working and route schedual for a guard for this station.

Could someone perhaps give me some examples of the above

Many thanks, Gareth.

Very interesting link! Can tell 20 years old be on a clause 9 for touching anything in the cab now. Guard prep train and pick a set up from depot, long gone memory. Catering trolley, station staff, integrated timetable and teamwork. The railway of yesteryear alas. Trains are proably DOO now.

I still prep units at the depot when required to pick it up there. Though not as often as we used to. Pre departure check should be carried out when taking a unit out from terminal station that is just out depot also, or if taken over from another member of staff who you haven't had a chance to confer with.
