Hi guys, this is my first post on here, and I'm hoping for some advice.
I have just sat the assessment centre tests for South West Trains as a guard, and failed the customer services roll of the assessment ( this was what used to be the roll play part). However I have been asked to attend another assessment centre next week with First Great Western, can I sit both of these as it's not 6 months, both of the companies have not really given me an answer about this, so I'm still a little confused about what happens next.

Thanks guys

Pretty sure you can't and it might be better to say now to avoid embarrassment which could also look dishonest.

How do they assess customer service now then?

Err, I'm not too sure to be honest on this one, as the Customer Service Rollplay pish is not a formal OPC test, however some companies use OPC's products for managers to assess it. If you've failed one of the three formal tests, maths, comprehension or concentration, then there's certainly a problem, and a six month wait.

I would definately speak to FGW but make it clear that you passed those three formal assessments, the records of all candidates assessed for all companies are held centrally by the OPC, so the company you apply to will know on the day anyway.

Hi guys, thanks for those replies. They now use question and answer books for the roll play, where you are given a scene and four answers and you put them in order of how you would deal with the situation,so no right or wrong answers. Still feels a little strange can't get my head round this and for failing too, as I was told that I was doing really well and had passed the maths, comprehension and conccentration until this point, with grade 'A' this may have been the staff saying I'm good though. I now need to re-sit this part and the interview in 6 months time.

Sat ticket test with FGW yesterday so now awaiting interview results.
The role play / questions are an in house test by SWT, FGW didn't use any..

Ah so essentially the original test wasn't a fail... Virgin do that too - tell candidates they failed everything, when infact the majority who sat the official paper assessments actually passed. Good luck mate!
