Guardian does Daily Mail style article on Reading services

I was being ranted at by a passenger (not a season-ticket holder, so I guess not a regular commuter) yesterday, on a busy train from Reading. He sounded like a Daily mail headline writer (6%, never get a seat, profiteering TOC, renationalise the railways, blah blah blah), and then came out with the total beauty;

"...and anyway, what is the money being spent on - I cant see a single thing for it!"

Given that Reading station is the largest project ongoing in the system, and has been a building site with trains running through it for well over a year now, I just wonder what exactly do we have to do for some people .

Some people just love the sound of their own voice, even though they have nothing constructive to say.

Did you point out the work going on at Reading to him? Perhaps you should have used Northern's twitter quote: Rome wasn't built in a day!
