Guard operation of doors

This raises a very interesting point, about the possible door systems that could be fitted to the IEP stock. Recent/current practise seems to very much favour the (daft) system of Driver releasing doors, Guard keying in to a door panel then having to give a bell/buzzer code to Driver to close doors, then closing his Local before sending the Ready to Start... It'll be very interesting to observe the stance taken by RMT and co if they try the same with the HST replacements, somehow I don't think that will go down too well!! Any thoughts, Flamingo?!
