Has anybody got these summer trousers ? I saw a notice in kings cross depot saying their available by asking your manager. Are they available to trainees too.
Also I'm sure the shorts vs trousers on the railway argument has been done, but have to say, I'd kill for a pair of shorts on a day like this.

Just logged onto the online uniform ordering and can't see summer trousers for us on the Southern side of things. Would be nice to have some as the normal ones are way too warm!
As for safety shoes, I believe they have to be safety rated S3 but that might have changed. I used to always have company issued footwear and they never lasted, leaked and fell apart after six months. My current safety boots are from B&Q £25, claimed the money back and have worn them for almost five years now and they are only just starting to wear away on the soles.
Certainly well worth checking the current requirements and sourcing your own from Screwfix, B&Q etc!

Summer trousers were in addition to the uniform quota, so won't be on the uniform website.

Yes, the notice I saw said speak to your manager to get a pair of summer trousers.
Also I heard some drivers talking about a survey on surveymonkey about uniform feedback.

I got some of the lightweight trousers and really like them. They come up a little smaller than the other ones though...
