Wonder if anyone can tell me if new starter at Thameslink receive free travel on Southeastern services? Also, does this free travel benefit extend to their partner or dependents and does it apply across both Thameslink and Southeastern networks for dependents?

Obviously caveat that this is all non contractual and could change at any time. There is reciprocal travel between GTR and SE. For the employee it's Leisure/Duty/Residential. For partners it's just Leisure and for dependents Educational and Leisure.

When you first join you probably won't have your official "The Key" smart card for a few weeks. You'll have a temporary pass and that pass will only be valid on GTR services.
