Hello there, I am in the same position as you! How did you find the DFFT?

I am in exactly the same position! What was the DFFT like?
Is that the fault finding? It really wasn’t too bad. They did send practice fault finding sheets and I did order some online too. They obviously aren’t exactly the same as the tests you undertake in the assessments but very similar. Again, it’s a matter of going through each fault methodically, double checking everything as quickly as possible but doing it properly. Just check gauges properly….they may be similar but two gauges next to each other may read differently ie one will empty to full from left to right, and the other will show empty to full right to left, if you get my drift?

Got invited to an all day assessment centre in Croydon. I have 2 questions. I have passed all the other test at a previous assessment centre expect the WAFV test and so I expect to do that again. My question is will I have to do the MMI test on the day? I ask because I've generally heard GTR don't do the MMI on the same day especially if you have to do the full day.

GTR splits Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessment days. Stage 1 is paper based assessment and if you passed that then only you’ll be invited for Stage 2 assessment which will be computer based + MMI.

If you're at Go-Ahead House they do all the assessments in one day. Generally if you pass they will organise a DMI before they offer you an MMI but it can vary.

Did the assessment centre with a nice bunch of people yesterday. Weird how GTR they make you do all the assessments in one day and don't tell you if you passed or failed after each assessment like others do.

If was good. We did the DFFT but not the MMI. They do the MMI another day if you have passed all the test. We dont get results until next week.
What did you have to do on the DFFT? That was the last test right? Fj gets crossed you pass everything to enhanced standard.

If you pass the paper tests you will be invited back to do 3 computer tests. If you pass them ( they tell you in the day ) you will sit the MMI later that day

Not how it worked bro. Sat it yesterday. You do all the tests in one day (paper in the morning and computer tests afternoon). You dont get told if you passed or failed any of the tests on the day (no one got told and everyone sat all the tests). You do the pre-MMI interview sheet but you don't do the MMI interview on the day.
They said they will tell us is we passed next week then be invited for the DMI. Then after we will be invited to the MMI.

I know its an odd way of doing it and not the same as other TOCs but thats how they did it yesterday

Crazy amount to do in one day, my tests where split up in to 2 days with MMI being after the computer tests, just waiting for a DMI date now

It’s paper, you have a booklet of trains with faults and then a fault finding guide to help you find the correct fault code

I personally found the DFFT the hardest of them all. The actual task isn't the problem, it's the time pressure. I only managed 8 but passed, so I must've got them all correct at least
