Yup, that does happen, but I don't think that was what was being asked.
I meant that if you get through the application and SJT stages, you would have to do the Mini Scaat, even if you had passed it within the past 12 months.

Just completed the Mini SCAAT, just thought I’d drop a comment as it’s my first time applying. Do they expect people to finish each page on the Mini SCAAT within the 2 minute time slot?
I managed to get 3/4 of the way through each page. I was more so focusing on not missing any as opposed to rushing to ensure I finish but then missing some.
Hi Everyone, I'm a silent listener in this group. I have applied at GTR for London Deport but haven't received any invitation for complete the miniscaat or anything. I have checked spam, delete and inbox but nothing. I have logged on online portal as well but nothing. However they have not mentioned that my application was unsuccessful or anything.

These jobs get hundreds, if not more applicants. They probably do the progression in tranches. I wouldn’t read anything into not hearing back just yet!

Thousands apply every time. Unless you hear otherwise they have your application and it's in the talent pool. Keep an eye on your emails and also keep checking your careers page on the GTR website.
I waited 4 years on my 2nd application from application to miniscat invite. Don't give up.

give it a couple more weeks and if you dont hear back, maybe you unfortunately didnt pass the SJT test. sometimes they wont even send a rejection email.
Hi everyone I have been invited to do the mini Scaat test and I’ve been reading up what others have said about it but I wanted to ask to who ever has completed it is it similar to the practice papers I’ve seen online where you need to cross out the correct answers I.e letters, numbers or symbols. Also if that is the case then am I better off doing it on a iPad instead of a laptop? The practice papers I bought online only helps if it was a classroom paper test

Before the test start youll have practice runs for each section which you can do as many times until youre confident to start so please dont stress over this. accuracy is your main priority
Hi everyone I managed to pass my mini scaat and now I’ve been told I have to go in for a driver assessment. Anyone know anymore information about what this assessment will be?

hi again i am trying to find out if the SCAAT test is shapes or Leiter's? if it is shapes what are the shapes? are they the same as the shapes you get for section 2 on the OPC purchased material i.e. (,),[,],{,},((,)) or the shapes that you get when you print off the sheets from the group bourdon tool?
Thankfully passed my miniscaat, now awaiting assessment centre. Anyone know how long it’ll be for the invitation, also if there is any practice material floating about?
Hello I recently applied for trainee train driver via gtr for southern. I have passed the miniScaat and initial sifting and have been invited to the assessment centre but awaiting a date. Where is the assessment centre and what would you recommend preparing for? Many thanks
Hi I am in the same boat. I have booked mine in April and practising like mad any spare time I have. I’m getting as much information as possible and have friends/Collegues giving me advice. I am worried about all of it but then it’s a massive position to have and obviously we don’t want to get it wrong!! I can only imagine it’s tough but keep practising and researching. I guess that’s all we can do.
Good luck

I got the first email 3rd March to say an invite will be sent for the Assessment day and then the email to book Assessment day on the 21st March, which I have booked for April and it’s at Go-ahead house.

They will send a link to practice material when you have booked your assessment day. I think there MAY be some links to practice materials somewhere on this site. I wouldn't worry too much about over thinking it, I just did the practice bits they sent, it's not exactly the same anyway it's just practice tasks that utilise the same skills that you will need on the day to give you an idea of what to expect.
The assessment day itself it's a long day, you will be mentally tired after. The one main thing you need to remember about the day when you get there, it's about accuracy not speed. Don't be slow doing the tasks but accuracy is more important.
Here's a link to the assessment page, have a look through

Morning, if you have not heard anything negative since the SJT test but have been told your application is still ‘UNDER REVIEW’ anyone know what this could mean. Bare in mind I’ve completed a miniSCCAT in 2023 & a assessment centre but failed VTS - Computer test but passed everything else
