Well, thought I'd update you on my Stewarts Lane application. Passed Dmi in Feb, then Medical last tuesday, so have a provisional start date in July!
It's been a long road to finally get a drivers position, but at last I'm there!!

Did you have to do the MMI?

Did the psychometrics with another TOC back in 2015, but wasn't offered a job back then! So it's been a long old road to getting to this, started applying for drivers jobs in about 2010! But finally got there, the patients and lots of knock backs have finally paid off!!

I had my verbal offer before, but pending a successful medical. Just waiting for a contract now.

Has anyone else herd anything yet I start on Wednesday

Congratulations - in Peterborough? I'm still waiting. Had an email a couple of months ago saying that vacancies were drying up and it's possible one will never open up for me. They'll keep me in mind until December, after which I'll have to start the whole process again when new jobs open.

Had email saying they're keep my details on file for six more months then I'll have to re-apply due to a 'change in the business needs' or words to that effect.

Anybody that applied for the original role I'd recommend applying for other jobs in the industry in the meantime - ticket snipping, booking office, platform.
They advertise quite often for these roles and it's a good way to get into the industry.

That's what I did while I was waiting for this shunter job and now have another job on the railway and will re-apply for the shunter role as and when it comes up.
