I think we need to remember that MTR will eventually need 400 drivers, which will be a combination of existing AGA drivers , drivers joining from other TOC's and recruited trainee drivers. On top of this we are at the start of a dramatic increase in services provided on the Thameslink and Great Northern routes by GTR that's being implemented over the next couple of years. We are extremely fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. Whether we like it or not, trainers, courses etc are limited . I'm sure everyone who passes everything will get on a course..........eventually. I know you've experienced disappointment before when getting this far, but I think circumstances are different this time.

It's about 15 min in total from Bupa to head office. I went to my medical first then to the head office.

"MTR Corporation" is a Hong Kong base TOC. They have been awarded TfL's £14.8bn "Crossrail" concession starting this year.

I have been contacted to let me know I have an interview on Thursday at HQ but I am reading on here you have also had your medical the same day, is that right?
I was told a letter had been sent out to me last Thursday (23/07) which I assume has the details of HQ address and maybe the medical too but I have not received this yet. Can anyone confirm what the medical is? Is it like a fitness test or something??

will the courses be allocated in order of when people passed the DMI? so it remains fair for all :roll:

That is a very good question.
My own theory is, yes, unless you are "in a talent pool". Some of the applicants are under the impression that everybody is in a talent pool, but some haven't received any word saying so, whereas others have.
I have a feeling it'll be done on 'time of passing' first, but an early passing talent pool candidate may be placed on a course after a late passing non-TP. If that makes sense? That's how talent pools traditionally worked anyhow.
I may be totally wrong, as others seem to be more certain of information than I am. Its just my gut instinct
Letter only? Or a call and a letter of confirmation?

hmmm to be honest I think were all in a 'talent/holding' pool, but as you passed your DMI way back in June it seems then you should be one of the first people going forward with the courses, if they allocate them in a chronological order.
I just hope they dont have a 'scatter gun' approach to the allocation of courses, and its all fair, and it will be demoralising if people who passed way back in June are frog-leaped by someone for example who says they passed today :cry::-x
I actually asked Claire this very question whilst attending the first assessment.
She replied that jobs would be allocated according to when you sat the assessments. I asked as in sydney it was a merit list so you were called up according to your score.
I also asked during my DMI and we were all scored but that I presume was done to sort who went through and who didn't.
I waited for over a year to start in sydney so its just a waiting game - you guys have all passed and just waiting for approval for start dates. Medicals wouldn't be sanctioned if you were not going to be employed.
I'm Waiting to hear how my DMI Went so touch wood will be meeting some of you soon.
