GTR 3rd Jan Intake

Hello all, I guess there is no certainty and I've had nothing in writing but I've been informed that I'll start training on 3rd Jan and will be posted to Welwyn GC. Anyone else out there that may be on my course?

I passed my DMI last week and have been offered a job pending I pass my medical. I was told a potential start date of Feb or March. I was told either WGC or Hornsey as a depot. Im hoping WGC as its so much closer to me

I would have thought so, too. I was wondering about TL services coming up from the tunnels from STP and wondered whether they are then classed as GN when they reach Finsbury Park?

Hi, I emailed them and asked and that was the answer. Nothing 100% but appears likely.

how does it work usually after the medical? i know i passed it but now are we to expect post, an email or a call or all three lol?

It’s usually a phone call from HR.

I wouldn't resign on a phone call alone. I got a verbal job off prior to the medical (but subject to the medical) in August. I had my medical at the start of Sept (all fine) and I haven't heard anything since.

i guess if it was to be jan 3rd if your notice period is 4 weeks then might not hear till end of month!

But why wait that long? If you leave it until the last minute there is a risk of not getting hold of the applicant or the applicant being on leave from work etc etc and not being able to start. It's making it more difficult than it maybe needs to be for me as I don't want my employer investing money in me when I'm goinf to leave but equally I can't yet resign.

Not since about 3 weeks after my medical. That's when they said I should be on for 3rd Jan. Cutting it fine now though.

Today I received an email with lots of paperwork to go through. I shall be starting on 3rd of Jan. Anyone else got their paperwork yet for the class of Jan 2018? If not I'd guess that it's imminent (check your inbox).
