Hello everyone,

I was just wondering, is there a free and openly available to the public GSM-R Simulator?

Thank You,
Have a good evening.

I know GWR have an app for driving training on GSM-R, but I have no idea how public that application is.
Unsure if other First Group TOCs also have access to it.

Niche maybe, you underestimate the railway fans though.

Just like the real thing, when the real thing is working...

That’s interesting - certainly looks pretty similar to the signallers’ side terminals l I have seen, although I’m nowhere near familiar enough with them to say whether it’s accurate.

It's honestly close to 100% accurate, as fsr as they went to the effort of recreating the 'clean' screen.

All the sounds and alerts are correct and the only big difference is the SMS function is no longer available in the real world for reasons.

We certainly have access to the GSM-R app at SWR, if it's the same one you mention. It's a pretty good little app to play around with and has scenarios you can simulate too.
