Hello,

I am travelling with some friends this weekend on a groupsave ticket. I'm presuming that this means we have to make sure we are all travelling together? I was wondering what the scenario would be if someone was delayed en route and didn't make the train a) because of rail-related delay or 2) another issue. If it was a rail-related delay, would they have to buy a new ticket and claim back through delay repay or would the ticket be accepted if they could show proof of the delay?

The terms and conditions are clear -- you must travel together at all times.

IME we've all been starting from the same point and IIRC could get on any train going the right direction (in our case it was Basingstoke to London and back again, with the expectation we'd use contactless payments while in London, and that's a pretty simple trip), but the people here have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the exact terms and conditions.

Suffice it to say that it's made very clear where Groupsave tickets aren't permitted and that you do all have to be together. Again, in my experience, we each got individual tickets and kept them on our own persons, but they will generally check you're all together at once, yeah.

I'm guessing that you'll be able to be fairly flexible on what services you can get on so you'll be able to wait until you're all together. The actual terms and conditions are at the address below though so I'd have a more detailed look. It's a document rather than a website.
