Group save Chiltern railway.

As a family of four we usually get 4 x Adult Off Peak one day travelcards with a group save discount from Chalfont & Latimer to LONDON zones 1-9.

I've just gone to book the tickets for Friday 27th December and can't seem to find them on both this sites ticket page and Chiltern Railways own website.

Any ideas why?

Have Chiltern been sneaky and discontinued the group save tickets, either permanently or just for Christmas?

As there is also some engineering works affecting Chiltern but not TFl, could that be why?

There are no Chiltern trains running from Chalfont & Latimer that day. However the ticket is still valid on the Metropolitan Line trains so the journey is valid with that ticket.

Is there any way to force a ticket engine to sell the tickets?

That's a TfL Group Day Travelcard, which has a minimum group size of 10 people.

The ticket you want is this one.

Though be aware that it's not possible to collect a ticket at Chalfont & Latimer as it's managed by London Underground. I don't believe their ticket machines can do GroupSave either.

I normally buy 4 off peak travelcards from the Chiltern website with a starting point of Chalfont & Latimer and get a group save discount (the cost is £11.20 each).

I then collect from Aylesbury station and then drive to Chalfont & Latimer (as it has 6 trains per hour).

I have just done a dummy run for the 5th February 2025 when there are no engineering works at Chiltern and outside of the Christmas period and have managed to get the tickets I want.

If I change the date back to 27th December, I can't get those tickets. Any idea why not?

Looking on the GWR website, it appears the LU Met Line timetable hasn't been entered for 27th December - presumably due to the service alterations over Christmas and New Year, so some journey planners can't find a valid journey for the ticket. The issue being that they run wholly on LU infrastructure, so don't automatically feed into the NR timetable systems.

I have been advised on another forum that it is probably due to there being no Chiltern line trains that day and that a ticket with a starting point of Watford High Street will work just as well as that is also a Zone 1-9 Travelcard.
