Opened in the 1940s with a lever frame that survived until demolition. I remember looking through the locked door of the box on my last visit to the UK before it was demolished (2007 from memory) and seeing all the white painted disused levers.

Did anyone on here ever go in there? I’m wondering if the disused levers had any indication of their former use. Would be fascinating to think there were signal and point levers for the Stainland branch or the Greetland goods yard still extant nearly 50 years after closure

There is a short item on it The Signal Box website ( .signal box.org ). It looks as though most of the lever leads were removed once the levers were out out of use, which was normal practice (at least in the areas I worked in), but a few appear to be still in place (although not at an angle or distance to allow them to be read) in one of the photos.
