So recently it appears the operation of the 758 has moved from Hemel to Luton and is shared with the 757 but also it appears the 66 plate VDL's are no longer to legal spec and are no longer being used along with the other white VDL's recently seen on the route.

The new coaches ordered haven't been able to be delivered on time so the route is currently be operated with spare Mercedes from the 757 and Enviro 200's! The Enviro's make it seem like they are trying to put a nail in the coffin in this route, at least Hemel could turn out an Enviro 400 when a coach wasn't available. I'm surprised with a company the size of Arriva that they have no suitable coaches they can't use until the new coaches arrive.

It also seems an oversight that coaches were purchased in 2016 which would no longer be compliant at the beginning of 2020. I also don't understand why they have now purchased a different type again for the 758, surely it would make sense to have a common coach type, especially if being now both run from Luton.

Seems odd running from Luton garage, where they already have a garage in Hemel Hempstead, wonder what the logic is?

It changed to operation by Arriva Midlands (Luton) rather than Arriva Southern Counties (Hemel) but I've no idea why.

I can only guess to make room for the Watford routes since Garston closed but I'm sure that happened in advance. The routes are very similar so maybe they thought best to jointly work them from the same depot but that does seem a lot of dead mileage between Hemel and Luton. Quite often see a coach being left parked in Hemel during the day time.

Luton is the only depot that operates coaches. It made sense to have the whole operation in one place. Arriva dont have too many coaches
