Are there any plans to make the London - Amersham - Aylesbury route any faster?

Linespeed improvements before Neasden would benefit all services, and north of Neasden to Harrow is a fair stretch those trains have to themselves - surely could be higher (might only save 30 seconds though!)

The LUL bit is the worst offender (I seem to recall the Aylesbury-Amersham bit to be in better condition). London-Amersham is probably at the bottom of TfL's todo list, as works for the olympics are taking priority.

Yes. After Sunday, they are presumably pulling up Northolt junction and there's no service between Bicester and London til the following Monday

I read on the Volvo TV FGW updates page that actually it says there is 'track improvement wroks taking place from 0200 15th August to 0200 20th August'

Is this actually why it is shut all week to allow engineering or more likely an excuse rather than saying 'to allow Chiltern tubros to use the station'. Anyone seen any engineers 66s up there?

I'm not clear about where exactly you're referring to, but I did see at least one EWS-liveried 66 static somewhere on the stretch parallel with the Met Line between HarrowOTH & Finchley Road on Sunday evening. Can't remember what the 66 was attached to!

Ooops, sorry didn't mention what the update said. It read that the Greeford branch was closed all week due to engineering, and was wondering if that is really the case and why there is no shuttle to Hayes, and wondering if there is an engineering possestion train anyone has seen working on the Greenford branch (the FGW line not the Old Oak to Greenford section)

It was attached to a load of tipping wagons containing ballast for the junction.
