Just passed Greenford on Central line and noticed a new single lense LED signal in the lovely old semaphores place. I hope the others on the GC/GW joint line are not replaced!

OK, why not? Have you got something against operational efficiency on the rail network?

I doubt it, he probably just really likes semaphores. And why not, they are lovely to look at (in my opinion). I don't think there's too much to read into the post 
Blimey, what an overreaction! The march of progress continues at a rapid pace, and I don't think many would argue that there will be some efficiency savings as a result. It's still sad to see the traditional methods of working disappear though, especially for those of us who work with it every day.

Tell me about it! Just expressing my feelings on it thats all.
The renewal was a little unexpected really as I had heard of no plans to replace these at all.
Hopefully it will land a place in a museum or maybe even back in use on a heritage line.
Like I said, it's funny how something trivial can rub you up the wrong way!
My point of view - we should preserve this historical artefacts (especially significant ones), but in more appropriate places, such as on the heritage lines.
The operational railway network is just that - operational. It's not a museum.
