Looking to see if this is valid.

Greenfaulds to Bellgrove. Get off at Springburn, then get a train from Springburn to Bellgrove.
Yes, it's valid. Once again, the reason is that it's the shortest route between Greenfaulds and Bellgrove.
the route on the National Rail website says that I have to go from Greenfaulds to Queen Street, then go to the low level and take a train to Bellgrove.
No. It offers that route by default because it is programmed to offer times for the fastest route, whether or not that is a Permitted Route.

Greenfaulds - Bellgrove via Queen St is shown as £3.70 single. If you ask for Greenfaulds - Bellgrove via Duke St, the National Rail website also offers journey itineraries by that route at £3.70 single.
