TfL’s regular email about weekend engineering works states

“No service between Green Park and Stratford, including Saturday Night Tube” this weekend (10th/11th January 2026)

Is it possible that trains arriving from Stanmore will be turned in the platforms that are normally closed to the public? I know that they are maintained and see occasional use for filming of scenes for movies, and there is still (hidden from public view) escalator access.

Yes the trains will probably be turned around in the Charing Cross platforms but the public will certainly not be allowed to ride them. Everyone will be made to alight at Green Park and staff will walk through to make sure that the train is empty before it does the Charing Cross reversal move. They have done this plenty of times before.

You mean turned round at Charing Cross? Yes that’s usually what happens in these circumstances. The Charing Cross branch is essentially used as a very long turn back siding.

Yes trains will reverse at Charing Cross, however will run empty Green Park to Charing Cross. It’s considered too problematic to run trains in service to Charing Cross, essentially any benefit is outweighed by the hassle it would cause.

I seem to remember reading the info for the Charing Cross Hidden London tour (jubilee line platforms). I think it said the escalators were non-operational. Someone can probably correct me if I’m wrong but that may be one of the (many) issues

The escalators are fixed in place. Fine for filming but useless for actual public usage. Walls separating the operational part of the station have also been constructed, with only limited access routes, again, unsuitable for public usage.

I did of course mean the Charing Cross platforms
Thanks for the replies.
I feel old when I realise that many of today’s generation have no experience of not having the connectivity that the Jubilee Line Extension brought to London!
