Ever since the franchise has fallen into public hands, the Greater Anglia site seems to be having a trim in terms of links to certain pages and having them removed from the navigation bar so they become hidden.

Everything under the About Us section appears to be removed, including the sections that used to go into detail on performance and customer engagement events that used to live under it. I assume they have stopped the later and the former is being hidden for other reasons.

They've even removed a load of info on tickets that will save you money from the ticketing section, there's no link to things like Anglia Plus Rovers anymore, the page is still there but it is no longer linked to from anywhere, I assume because the new overlords would rather people spent more money on individual tickets, in line with the DfT 'simplification' desire.

I have to say, along with the stealth fare rises we have seen, my first fears are becoming a reality in terms of the DfT's approach to taking over our award winning operator. However many leaflets local Labour Politicians hand out at the local railway stations about fare freezes, the early signs are not good.

We should expect a publicly operated railway to be front and centre with encouraging people to use our more environmentally friendly trains, not trying to hide good value fares and trying and avoid being held to account by the people who use their services. That's particularly the case now the DfT are at the helm.

The performance pages are linked to from the 'Transparency' link in the footer.

Rover and Ranger tickets linked to from 'Find The Right Ticket' link and the 'Discounts and Offers' links in the main nav and the nav menu in the footer.

The links still appear to be there basically, but possibly relegated from being top level nav items.

Do you have the individual links to share? If may be worth quoting from them / uploading copies , to preserve the information the DfT perhaps don't want people seeing.

There are sites such as archive.org which do this automatically, however the new owners of any site can withdraw the permissions, so it's not guaranteed that will be a useful resource.

It would be interesting to have this confirmed; I understand DfT want people to be deterred from travel to avoid having to pay for growth and to maximise the amount each passenger pays, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is indeed the case.

DfT won't like Rovers and Rangers, as they could undermine the DfT's attempts to force dynamic/surge pricing and to make the only truly flexible fare an expensive 'Anytime'.

That is absolutely not what the DfT is about; a debate about why the DfT should be about is probably best posted in a separate thread dedicated to the topic, as it's an important topic in it's own right.

Customer Engagement (looks like hasn't been updated since DfT took over)

This is precisely my fears. I don't have any objection to the railways in public control but my biggest fear for years has been I simply don't trust the DfT and that they are a large part of the problem with the industry and giving them more control is going to lead to the kind of fare reforms you are talking about.

The stealth fare increases on the Greater Anglia network by removing the super off-peak fares on a considerable number of services are an example of this. Several weeks ago I was approached at Ipswich by Labour politicians and their supporters handing out flyers about train fares being frozen. I just really dislike the spin because we have seen stealth rises not just on GA but in other areas of the country again and they are taking the public for fools.

The performance pages are linked to from the 'Transparency' link in the footer.

Rover and Ranger tickets linked to from 'Find The Right Ticket' link and the 'Discounts and Offers' links in the main nav and the nav menu in the footer.

Ironic that they're hidden under a page called transparency when they've been clearly relegated to a place where it is much more difficult to find them. They used to have a direct link to them in the main navigation and the footer and other places.

And the Rangers and the Rovers have now gone from being an item in their own right on both the top and bottom navigation to be on the find the right ticket page right at the very bottom. And not only that, but the main nav, has a sub-nav on the top bar for find the right ticket which doesn't even list it.

It's clear what game the DfT are at here and coupled with the stealth fare rises which has no need to happen at this point (the contactless argument is moot because those stations haven't got contactless yet and as that was delayed, so should the fare changes have been). I can only imagine what the forthcoming 'fare simplification' will mean and no doubt as I feared, the government need GBR to succeed, so they will need to make it harder to hold them to account if it doesn't.

So the DfT operated GA have not updated these statistics and now are no longer publishing train delays on JourneyCheck under the other train alterations heading.

This is anything but transparency.

Can I have my old private award winning operator back please?
