Unless you’ve taken the SJT with the same TOC or one who’s under the same parent company within 6-months, you have to retake it unfortunately (for example I applied for SWR and took the SJT, and when I applied to GWR within 6-months I didn’t have to retake it). Once you get beyond that, you won’t have to take any assessments you’ve already passed as long as they passes are current regardless of the TOC.

Sorry mate, I meant rather than contact them about my psychometric passes. Would they not just ask me about them if I pass the SJT. I didn't want to be a nuisance, calling them if they’re busy with the recruitment drive lol! I passed my psychometric tests with freightliner, June last year.

Haha, my fault, I edited my post when I realised I’d misread it....you were probably replying at the time.

You have to do the online test still , if you passed your tests to enhanced level and they are still valid you will probably go straight to DMi .
PM coming your way

Hi Gooner18,

Could you pm their contact number to me too?

I applied for both mainline and depot. I’ve completed the sjt for mainline and have tried to contact them to see if have to do the sjt for depot too. I don’t want to do the depot sjt if I don’t need to especially if I fail which in turn could effect my mainline application (assuming I passed!).

I’ve tried to contact them via email and live chat but no one is responding.

Many thanks,

Gavin.

Haha yea with you on that one. Would you wait until the results of the assessment 1st?
Maybe wait a little bit and see if you get a response, see if anyone else on here gets a response, if not give it a go.

What depot are you going for ?
Apart from the standard Questions of ;

Give me an example of when you’ve dealt with ......... just like you’re MMi

Look up on what trains are used in your chosen depot , they will ask you what the role is of a depot driver etc.
Also look up info about the company, I.e who owns it , what their plans are etc

I hope I'll have the same luck..just need to work on the questions now and only have a couple of days as they called me yesterday to go for the interview on Monday..wasn't really expecting it to be this quick but maybe that means I won't have to wait for the entire assessment process to finish and I can start training sooner

Ah damn forgot to put on my application that I’ve already passed the three psychometric tests with another company.

Hello OneLowban,

I have applied for the trainee mainline driver role. I applied for the role on the 11th and received an e-mail the following day with the SJT assessment. Is this a good thing? I also scored 11 on my application. Do you have any tips or advice please?

Thank you,

George
Hi did you find out if that score of 11 was any good in the end? I have applied for a trainee train driver too and also received a score

Hello all,

This is my first foray into the work of forums, so please forgive any errors.
I recently applied for a trainee depot driver job and received an e-mail yesterday.
I've just been invited to 'complete a range of online assessments'. I have been informed also that the link expires within 6 days of receiving it.
Now this all sounds very ominous..would anyone be able to provide a heads up regarding what this range of assesments might be?
I was thinking maths, mechanical comprehension, SJT and the like?
Is the dreaded dot test part of the online stuff too?

Many thanks. :D

Should just be SJT
Brilliant, thanks for the advice and reply. I spent the entire night shift where I currently work practicing/refreshing maths at any spare moment . I'll concentrate my efforts on the group bourdon test now I think.
