And here is the policy:
http://www.abelliogreateranglia.co.uk/contact-us/social-media/social-media-usage-policy

We also do not tolerate 'trolling' (routinely contacting other users who are not your own followers) via our feed. Users who chose not to comply with this will receive a warning however we will seek to block and report any user who continues to fail to comply with this policy.
I don't agree with that definition of 'trolling', but anyone who doesn't comply with that doesn't have anything to fear by being "reported" (assuming that's the only act they are "guilty" of!)

I have seen people "routinely" contact other users who are not their own followers via Twitter feeds in a helpful way. Under the definition provided by GA that would be "trolling"!

Trolling is to do with the content of the message, not merely the act of making contact with unknown people.

Whoever wrote that policy is confused!

The only people who can set any policy on Twitter are Twitter themselves. If GA want to set the rules, they should host something on their own webspace.

I get irritated when I tweet London Midland or FCC and then get twenty comments from "Worst Crapital C***ect" or similar, I do wish they'd grow up and get a life.

But this is an horrendous PR move. If there's one thing people don't like on Twitter it is companies dictating what they can and cannot say. Not to mention the (valid) accusation that they're "stifling complaint".
