Which depots are Anglia Railways? Norwich and Ipswich?

And Liverpool Street (East)

Anyone lucky enough to get in is joining at the right time. Pay deal offered with Sundays in the working week is offering a 10% pay increase for this year and another 9% next ​

It sure is. Hats off to ASLEF for getting them that deal. Heard some mixed reviews as usual but more positive than negative.

The pay offer will see drivers earning less overall and having to work more hours to earn what they would have earned under two years of standard pay rises.

Additionally there will be no more direct driver recruitment, this deal will mean only depot drivers recruited going forward, except maybe the outliers like Liverpool Street!

And the drivers will still be many thousands a year behind their colleagues at C2C and GN

Dang so they're going back to the c2c approach of shunter for a few years before being considered for a mainline role

You would be a depot driver not a shunter. The line of promotion has been reinstated as it was until around a decade ago.

Ipswich doesn’t have depot drivers. Colchester come under Great Eastern conditions.

Completed the online SJT the first day it was sent, still nothing back. How long do GA normally take to get back? Seems like only a select few have heard back. Applied for Liverpool St (East)

I am confused especially since recently I passed M7SJT at OPC at enchanced standard so clearly its not based on even the score you get.

Yes I’m in the same boat. Done the first assessment on 14th May and not heard anything since. (Bishops Stortford, Cambridge) Maybe they’ve just picked a batch of people at random and seeing how that turns out?

Indeed, they are quick to tell you if you have failed the SJT.

Thank you so much for this information , because i also applied for ipswich trainee train driver, and took the online assessment on 11th of May 2026 but since then i have not heard anything from them. Do you know of anyone who has heard back from them as regards for ipswich. Thanks

Hi mate, I had the email through for the SJT on the 11th May. Had the email with the materials for assessment day on the 28th May. Nothing outside of that I’m afraid. I’ve applied for Liverpool Street and Bishops Stortford. No idea which it applies to.

I've heard, for a non driver role, that interview dates are decided before any successful applicants are contacted. I imagine it is the same for drivers.

Ive currently also got an application in with the NCA for a job which they gave dates for the next stage and is currently about 5 weeks overdue! Recruitment departments are slow everywhere it would seem!
