A 720 on a IC service would be mad idea! Would be better to sweep up the intermediate passengers on a 720 where the main boardings (likely Colchester and Ipswich) are. The issue with this is that there is already a 1802 departure which gets to Colchester 12 mins later than the 1800 service, so it already exists.

There's going to be no 1810 reinstatement, considering the recast and departues now occupying those paths.

It's a classic problem of people wanting to take the fast service (and possibly nicer stock) even though there's already a decent alternative that departs around the same time.
Doubt you'll see any increase in the IC anytime soon as they'd have to steel yet another Stansted unit and I have noticed they've limited the advance purchase tickets now to reduce demand.

Any ideas when the promised journey time improvements from new rolling stock will come through in the WAML timetable? We’re still not back to the pre-covid timings for a lot of the Cambridge and Stansted services.

The WA timetable will change when the ECML timetable does. But don‘t expect a revolution.

They would be XC services and not GA services.

Didn't really want to make a new thread for this, especially for my first one... so here goes.

Greater Anglia really need to change how they hand over rolling stock at stations. Once a service terminates, the PIS continue displaying the terminating station, which I have personally been confused by myself. You can usually predict it, if the departure board is showing one service, it will almost always be that one, but it's not always the case. Stock forming ECS movements should be set to Not In Service as soon as the train enters the station. Is there any good reason it isn't like this?

The other day I was at Ipswich and saw multiple people wander to platform 1, look puzzled at the train, then either board or sit on a bench to wait. Usually, it will depart and head to Lowestoft, but in this case it was heading to the Goods Junction to arrive into platform 2 and form a Cambridge service (I believe). I had suspected that it was out of service, but didn't tell anyone as I wasnt sure. Once the driver turned up, I let him know where the people were on the train (it was only 3 passengers), and informed anyone else who attempted to board. Unfortunately I was met with a rather rude stare as I explained it to two people boarding, requiring me to flag down the driver and let him know.

It depends on the driver and whether or not they know the headcode of the service it forms once they leave it. Myself I often scan RTT to see what it forms next and often know the headcode anyway from memory. Also I put up ‘Not in Service’ as I arrive if it’s coming out of traffic. All of this however is not part of our duties hence why some do and some don’t.
