Greater Anglia - Norwich roster

Hi all, does anyone know what the roster is like for Norwich depot?

Also, what depots do GA work out of?

If its drivers you are after...

35 hour averaged 4 day week. Long weekend every 3 weeks. Sundays outside the working week. Night shifts in all links expect the top one. Earliest job start is 0400 (there is an 0330 job but that's a special one I shan't go into), latest (!) finish is 0215 but its an exception, most end between 2300 and 0100. Weekends are pretty similar.

GA driver depots are Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, Colchester, Ilford, Clacton, Southend, Liverpool Street (2 depots) and Bishops Stortford.

Thanks. Also you mentioned other depots. We are on three separate (pre 2004) contracts/salaries too. Norwich, Ipswich & one depot at Liverpool St are Anglia Railways (AR), Clacton, Colchester, Southend & Ilford are Great Eastern(GE). The rest are all West Anglia (WAGN).

I can only really speak for Norwich where driver manager vacancies are concerned & one was filled only a couple of weeks ago following a retirement. There is constant driver training going on (& has been throughout the pandemic) to fill any vacancies. We are quite top heavy for DIs at the moment on the Anglia patch & these are basically just drivers with a 5% pay enhancement which is continuously paid. On WA they get 2 hours extra pay per shift but as far as I know only when they have a trainee. Not sure about GE.

GE is a couple hundred a month I think, whilst having a trainee. Continues for 3 months after finishing a trainee if there isn’t a fresh one.

Good info here. Do the drivers at Norwich learn all routes out of the depot?

Depends what roster you are in but anything apart from the bottom one, yes (excludes London/Cambridge). Plus you also sign Ipswich to Lowestoft and Ipswich to Felixstowe.

Yes
