PTSO or platform depending on the weather
My daughter needs to travel from Liverpool Street to Clacton this Saturday.

The GA website is stating there are no Elizabeth line trains between Liverpool Street and Shenfield but "it is not known how GA services will be affected"

Does anyone have any concrete information on how she gets to Clacton? From previous experience, it was LUL Central line to Newbury Park, then RBR to Shenfield and train from there

Seems odd this week that of the three hourly departures from Ingatestone all go direct to Ipswich & beyond.

I dont suppose they would run a Colchester to Ipswich shuttle if the through train from Ingatestone ran to Clacton.

Ingatestone to Ipswich appears to fit nicely as a two hour cycle.

Unfortunately it has been like this for sometime other than start and finish of the day when some crews/trains come off of/go back to Clacton. It’s really frustrating for Clacton line users as it means 3 changes rather than a through train to London on non engineering work days. And as is the norm this is also the case between Christmas and New Year when the seasonal present of festive engineering works is happing as usual (Crossrail work is the reason given!)

Not going to well today with reports of 2 hour waits for buses at Ingatestone, with football and other events taking place today. GAs twitter feed full of it. https://twitter.com/niccuttsy/status/1591429688295325696?s=21

More fun and games this weekend with the added bonus of buses between Colchester to Clacton/Walton as well as between Newbury Park and Ingatestone. Don’t think I’ve ever been aware of two lots of bus replacement on this route at the same time!

Looks like last weekend was written in such a way as to make this weekend easy, a Clacton shuttle train last weekend simply becomes a bus this weekend.

Does anyone know why they cannot have two of the four lines open between Liverpool Street and Shenfield? I travelled between London and Three Bridges today, and whilst work was being done on the fast lines, the slow lines were kept open, allowing most services to run.

It has happened constantly over the last few years. That’s why such slow running for Intercity services as a 2-track railway.

Insufficient safety distance between worksites and open lines on some sections of the route.

In this case, all the power was off due to works on the distribution system.

Stricter Health & Safety. It used to be that the Met line could run when the Jubilee line was closed & v.v. I don't know what the required distance between tracks is these days and indeed if it matters if lines are Up Down Up Down or U U D D.

I know that you get induced currents at 25kV 50 Hz but you can earth the overhead lines. I'm not a technical person.
