Just wondered if anyone 'in the know' would have any idea why the Harwich International - Lowestoft train was diverted into Manningtree Pl 2 yesterday instead of going around the East curve.

I must say, it was quite strange seeing a train head North towards Ipswich from Pl 2 at Manningtree.

I have a feeling I saw something about a 170 with a broken windscreen. Maybe it was that one. Possibly it broke it on the way from Harwich and decided to run it into Manningtree and reverse it on the way to Lowestoft. I notice the ECS working from Lowestoft to Norwich lost some time en route so it makes some sense.

All guess work though.

ahh, i see, thanks for your response, that would explain it I was sat waiting for my Harwich train to leave and it confused me that the driver got out and changed ends without even bothering to release the doors, but this would explain it I dont suppose anybody would know the unit in question at all?

No 'reverse' on 1259points UML-Curve. Trains had to run via Mng.

It was 170208 that had the broken windscreen.
