It was remodelled last month during a 9 day closure in readiness for resignalling next year. Platform 1 & the Asda siding (final reminant of the Goods Yard) where abolished. Ironically the carriage sidings opposite Vauxhall Holiday Park look like coming back to life in connection with the new rolling stock currently under construction. Lowestoft is next to get the treatment.

Sometime all 4 were used at once

Sadly that was a rarity. No booked RR required either now which was the main Saturday reason to keep 2/3 clear.

All a far cry from when I lived opposite in the 70s when all 4 would be used much of the day, goods traffic still arrived daily & a class 03 was based here for that & the carriage sidings which handled 4 IC sets & a Birmingham each evening with newspaper/parcel vans by day & a deluge of hauled sets on Saturdays/Sundays in Summer.

Hopefully it is the prelude to the entire town being pushed into the sea. Horrible, dreary, dull awful place. Disliked living there.

Oh and the station looks like a public toilet.

Norfolk should be reported to social services for such cruel misuse of the term "Great"

I lived in Gorleston for 4 years and loved it.

I agree on the station though!
