Green 143620 passed Uphill about 1540 on its way back to Exeter.

No that wasn't 143620, it was 143603 my friend was at Exeter St Davids when it came in and told me what it was. Also the other reason 143620 cant have come back yet is because it is having suspension work done at St Phillips Marsh and has not come out yet.

Oops! Sorry kids. I saw it from another train... your source is far more reliable than my failing eyesight! :)

Lol. No its that 143620 is having suspension upgrades as well so it is still in Bristol having it done however 143603 wasn't going to be having it so it was bound to be 143603.

It's really weird as I doubted it was 620 at first but must have convinced myself otherwise... it's all going downhill since I turned 40! Nice pic... thanks for clarifying.

Does anyone have an update for which 150s are currently at Wolverton? I know 150243 is there, but is 150244 still there (if so, it's been ages)? Thanks

150244 still at Wolverton, the latest ready time that I have picked up is the end of August. Apparently the level of corrosion was very high as compared to some others.

Thanks PHILIPE. I believe 150243 has some pretty severe corrosion issues too which led to one end being "NON-MULTI" before it was sent off, so probably will also be there for some time.

Why are they bothering to repaint units that have little more than two years left to run?

They aren't repainting them; they're being revinyled into the new colours, which is quicker and cheaper, but looks a bit tacky in comparison. Pacers are cheap and tacky, so there won't be much change there!
Why? I have no idea, perhaps to mollify the locals who think they aren't getting newer-looking trains...though my assumption's probably a mile wide of the mark!

Close inspection of 603 looked very much like paint to me!

150926 or rather the 150126 part of it has new led screens I notice... Are these 150/1 receiving basic prm mods? Presumbly new toilets and door sounders

Are the floors being touched ?

The original toilets are shocking... Still retain the foot plungers

Mind you the 465 toilets are pretty dire

I saw 150926 yesterday (on a Portsmouth diagram of all things) and the outer (150/1) cars have indeed been refurbished, without the relivery, but including full disabled toilet and PIS system. It didn't look like the centre car (150/2) has been done but then the 150/9 formations are a bit fluid currently so perhaps a different vehicle is destined for this set?

It's still disappointing trains are being made unavailable for service for cosmetic reasons during the school summer holiday period when demand for trains in Devon is at its highest.

The middle car on this unit has been fitted with wifi. It's speculated that 150126 will go off to Northern and there is the possibility that the two middle carriages from 150926 and 150925 could be refurbished and fitted with a DDA toilet.

There are some new fold down seats near the toilet on 150126 that have a nice new dynamic lines seat cover. I thought we'd seen the end of it! (Not that I'm complaining...)

They are not just painting them because they feel like it - it's because it is scheduled maintenance. The VMI will say they have to be painted every x years.

The post to which I was responding suggested they weren't being repainted, they were being revinylled for reasons unknown.

I think there are more that I'm not aware of! Please do tell me if so!

43126 is now in FGW blue livery, 165111 is back from Wolverton in GWR green minus the air cooling.
I think 165124 is back in service at Reading.
