Ventured onto GWR territory for the first time in ages this week.

Was nice to see two units coupled together belonging to the same rail operator, one in blue livery and one in dark green. Not seen that for, oh, 45 years at least!

150002 maybe gone (Good riddance!) but is 150001 staying around? Or has that gone already?

And have both 165110 and 165111 gone to Wolverton on 5M65 today? That's rare to see a double set to Wolverton if so. Wouldn't that mean that we are now one Turbo down, maybe more?

Could that mean, we may see 165124 back at last soon?

What do you mean 'down'?

As you are well aware, there are a number of extra Class 387 diagrams in operation from Monday to cover the Maidenhead services, therefore the number of Turbos needed at the busiest times of the day is reduced - so having two 165s away for modifications at Wolverton at the same time isn't an issue.

Someone, somewhere does plan this stuff...

Casper was out and about on the Devon Metro yesterday, he even had time to swap a 150/1 for a 2 while I was over at the Rugby.

Exeter Depot also had all liveries on the metro yesterday, with GWR 153318, FGW Blue 369 and Visit Devon 333 all together on one service.

As of the new timetable change, SX there are 49 diagrams for LTV to cover with 56 units. This does not include the 2x 166 & 1x 150 currently in the West at St Phillips Marsh as they are technically 'off the LTV books'.

I read somewhere that 150002 is back at Reading, indirectly covering for the departure of 180108 to pastures new. Any truth in this?

Yes, it's been back for a few weeks. And they can keep the POS.

EDIT: Just read something on the previous page to say it's back at Bristol? So who knows!

Not really, 150002 came back to Reading to allow 166208 go to Bristol for C4 work (Ride Height Mods)

The 180 work had already been intergrated into a Turbo diagram (basically the Newbury work). Having both 150s on the Basingstokes freed up 3 car turbos to cover their proper diagrams.

Now we have the new timetable & diagrams in force, 150002 has been sent packing once again. No doubt, like the proverbial bad penny, it will be back at Reading at some stage

I wouldn't be so sure about that, they've just found out with a week to go the current power supply on the new wires can't handle the demand of a few peak time units. Excellent planning! ;)

Does anybody know what has happened to 150125 as the middle coach has been inserted into 150216 now? And is it in a different livery?

150125 has gone away for a C4 (I think) and 150216 was chosen because it is in plain blue livery as is 57209 which has been inserted into the middle of it.

150126 has now had PRM mods, so that's PIS screens, and the massive toilet.

It remains in FGW Plain Blue livery, though, source for this is an image in a private Facebook group.

There isn't a 150125 at the moment. It is part of 150925 and is out and about and has been for some time now. The coach in 150916 came from 150126 when it went to Works and which came back last night.

I didn't realise that the 150/1s were due to still get the mods whilst they were with GWR. Is it something that has been advised by the DfT? As I can't see GWR particularly wanting to fit this to the stock they're going to be losing in the next couple of years. Good news for Northern though, wouldn't be helpful if all the 150/1s turn up with GWR saying "they all need the work"

Have the insides been smartened up too? I'm guessing not - And 150126 is one of the 150/1s in better internal condition.

Can't turn anything up at the moment to quote but believe DFT initiated.

Things looking a lot like 387s have been seen in Maidenhead over the past three days.....

See pages 168 and 169 here http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=5066.2505

also suggestions in that thread attributed to WNXX that all the planned diagrams will be worked by 387s as of Friday.

The modification programme is being funded by and carried out on behalf of the leasing company, not GWR, so if the leasing company wants the work done as soon as possible and GWR is able to release sets, then off to works they will go.

Two green 153's paired up for the first time in Cornwall yesterday AFAIK. 153368 and 153372 were on the Falmouth branch line.

Another green 150 heading home. Passed half of it on the M4 around Bath a hour ago. Unsure what number though - the wife saw it first!

Can't remember if the previous post was is in this thread or the other one, but 143629 should be working to Bristol and back again tonight - It was on the 19:21 from Dawlish (Service starts at Paignton at 18:52) to Bristol Temple Meads. Should be getting an unusual and fast run for a 143 - it only stops at Taunton and Temple Meads after Exeter.

This was the thread relating to this:-

Would be something of a miracle if it was 143629:shock::shock:
