From what I heard, GC are interested in poaching them...

That bit is fact, not hearsay though. Off lease from GW in Dec 2016 for transfer to GC; some will be subleased back until replaced by IEP/SET.

As per the franchise specification:

Four of the Class 180 units (20 vehicles) will be subject to a sub-lease arrangement from Grand Central after the lease expiry date show pending withdrawal from service linked to the IEP stock delivery.

From what I heard, GC are interested in poaching them, as well as the Hull Trains ones. Fleet uniformity & all that.
With regard to the FGW units, that's not a rumour, it's confirmed that four of the FGW 180s will be moving to Grand Central during 2017 (subject to timely replacement by IEP units).

Grand Central would only require the Hull Trains units (Following their replacement by AT-300 units) if they saw an expansion in the services they operate, though.

Given that they're leaving sooner rather than later I'd be surprised if the 180s go green. Hull Trains quite regularly borrow the GW units anyway and as HT is still a First-branded business it makes sense to keep the sets in corporate colours.

Hull Trains isn't a First branded business any more. The branding has been covered up on at least one of their units.

In the New Year one of Reading's prototype 150/0s will be joining the Green Team!

166210 is currently at Wolverton so will be the next Green 166.

Looking forward to seeing one of them in the Green livery! Hoping it's 001 - one of the ends was looking a bit of a mess the last time I saw it. Be interesting if they fit those High Intensity lights the ex Silverlink 150/1s have.

Well, I saw 166205 at Reading station last Saturday morning in the new green GWR livery and it looked quite good. I had noticed though that the train number had been moved to being between the lights as per the photo below:

I think that's standard on all the reliveried units?

On the HST power cars it's been placed, rather oddly, on the sliding van doors, with nothing at the front end at all.

Bit of an oversight I think; they could at least have put it on the front nose à la the Turbos!

Why is it an oversight? There's no reason for it to be at the front.

Except in a line-up at a depot where crews/staff may want to identify a specific vehicle/unit from the ends rather than walking down each rake until they find the right one.

Just wait until they swap out a van door and it then ends up on another power car!

Given only one HST set has been changed, and is likely to be the only one changed for the time being, the different yellow panel should be enough to identify LA15 at a glance.

True, but another powercar was repainted, and now it could be either LA15's set or the spare powercar.

Is the spare powercar going to be used in a purple set?

Apparently 150232 ran back to Bristol last night, any info on the livery?

Does anyone know if 150108 has received a new lick of blue (and yellow) paint recently? Saw it earlier at Bath (11:10) on a Weymouth - Bristol Temple Meads service. Looked very shiny like it had just been painted!

Next up for the green team:

150001 is planned to depart for Wolverton in the early hours of Monday.

166212 is next 166 in line (should go this weekend)

Good to see a 150 going into green, seeing that 150232 still hasn't come back. (If 150232 is even green anyway.)

Correction to above: 150001 is actually off to Doncaster (Wabtec)

There are two schedules from St Phillip's Marsh in the early hours of Monday morning - one to Doncaster and one to Tyseley both at the same time.

Which are lovely, except 150001 is at Reading and thus won't be following either of those paths!
