150125 is now out in passenger service. On 2C45 from Bristol to Penzance today still in FGW colours but seems to have had the old style headlights added...View attachment 49241
There was a 150/1 coupled to the back of a 150/2 pulling into Weston-super-Mare Platform 1 last night at around 21:00. Certainly interesting seeing half the train GWR green and half FGW Blue. I know which part of the train I would have travelled in.

Unusually had to use Platform 1 as a Turbo departed towards Bristol Temple Meads just after it arrived.

It was 150125 with old style headlights now and 150266. 150125 had worked down to Penzance on 2C45 and 150266 had also worked down to Penzance on 1C04.

Here's another update, with errors corrected as pointed out by all of you contributors (thank you).

Most importantly, added 802s in there this time, as they seemed to have slipped out of my mind in the last update...

- There will be errors is this, due to keeping track of the changes being difficult.
- Current off lease rolling stock has been removed, this is purely for GWR only.
- Sections in ITALICS are ones I am unable to confirm on what state they're in. (Relying on your contribution to make this list correct)
- Again, there will be errors. I'm relying on our combined knowledge to correct me on this list.

Anyone know what’s going to happen to the shutters? Surely there’s too many with OOC Depot going?

43144 seems to have gone missing from this list which was in use this week. Also I thought 43031 & 43032 were off-lease, but I am less certain of that

43031 & 43032 are indeed off-lease; 031 is at Chaddesden awaiting a slot into Brush (AFAIK), and 032 is currently in Brush.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but 166220 has a name on it.. “Roger Watkins - The GWR Master Train Planner”
Can anyone help me? The late and great Roger was a relative of my Mum and I’m now commuting on GWR trains, I’m trying to find the engine 166220 with his name and was wondering what route/line/stations are best to look out for it

Any help much appreciated

Welcome to the forum, Ellis!

You'll find that unit on services through Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff/Taunton/Weston Super Mare/Weymouth/Southampton Ctl/Great Malvern/Cheltenham Spa/Westbury/Avonmouth etc...

Have a look on RealTimeTrains on Bristol Temple Meads, and any services with headcodes such as 2Uxx, 2Yxx, 2Cxx, 2Dxx, 2Vxx & 2Kxx are most likely to be a Class 165/166.

If you want to find out where 166220 is on the day you intend to travel on it, visit the TOPS request thread HERE and post a request.

From the list above; it appears all the class 153s in the new GWR livery have left the franchise but some of those in First group colours are still with GWR. Why did they relivery the units that were spending less time with GWR? If they needed a repaint, why weren't all of them 'Caspers'?

If the list above is correct, 166220 is a RHM (Ride-Height Mod.) unit based in Bristol. In that case I expect if it it is in use it would be running through Bristol Temple Meads a few times each day. Others with local knowledge may be able to help you more. However if by 'engine' you are expecting a locomotive you may be disapointed since 166220 is a multiple unit and a commuter-type one at that.

Different leases from different companies. All the GWR Green units were leased From Angel Trains, whereas the remaining famous 5 are leased from Porterbrook - of which the First Group painted ones were only just repainted before the name change. The other two, 325 & 333 are only vinyled over there former London Midland City colours. As for why the Angel units left first, that I couldnt tell you.

166220 is indeed now based at St Phillips Marsh, Bristol.
Not my photos but this is what you are looking for, 166220 at Bristol Temple Meads, you’ll see the name just behind the cab door:
