This afternoon the 16:40 to Peterborough was actually the 16:32 to Cambridge.

Apparently the passengers were on the train on platform 5 when it was announced that the 16:32 had changed to to the 16:40. As soon as the 16:40 was announced as platform 5 I tried to get on but it was full already.Weird.

Also quite a few services are running with 8 rather than 12 carriages this week, is there a shortage of carriages out there?

GN will have been short of a unit due to the train that hit the buffers at Kings Cross earlier. This is probably the reason for some of the disruption today.

It's been a bad week for GN with fatalities and a buffer stop collision taking a couple of units out of service. Lots of short forms as a result.

The buffer cruncher didn't just take a unit out of action, it took a platform (thankfully an 8-car) as well.
