Hiya all, I remember seeing two 379s stored at Wembley amongst the Renatus 321s. I believe these were 379 001 & 010, but correct me if I am wrong. What was the date when these units were moved, and has anyone got footage of them being returned to Hornsey? Thanks!

The 1740 out of Kings Lynn did run yesterday, with the stock getting to lynn from Cambridge at 1730 from Cambridge

Ambigious use of 'it' in my post, apologies. I meant that the 1740 didn't run on Thursday (but did on Friday) and the 1710 didn't run on Friday (but did on Thursday!). Both services being 379 diagrams.

As for today, I can say that the 0853 Ely to KGX was a 700 (ugh) and the 2009 KGX to KLN is 387. The 1957 KGX to Letchworth was also 387. Haven't seen any 379s out but I've been in GWR land most of the day.

Rather pleased I got to KGX in time for the 2009 as the next two Kings Lynn services are cancelled...

1T52 and 1T54 (and by reaction 63/65) were both running 700s this evening. Not sure if thats a result of 387/379 issues or by design with the new timetable

15.42 and 16.42 off Lynn were both formed 2x379 this afternoon. We were all chucked off the 16.42 at Cambridge due to no driver.

The 0947 Ely-KGX/1710 KLN-KGX diagram only made it as far as Letchworth on the 1127 KGX-CBG service today, and cancelled for the rest of the day (and so once again there's a 53 minute gap in services from Cambridge North to Cambridge, in the middle of the evening peak).

They did seem to manage to run the whole diagram yesterday, so that's something I suppose.

It does baffle me how this country really struggles with introducing new fleets, although I get it's not just us*, we do seem to be worse at it than most other countries.

Have you confirmed its a pure 379 introduction issue then, given it isn't attributed as such?

Per another thread, due to not enough drivers trained on 379s yet. You'd kinda hope that GN might have got on top of this (especially as we were told it isn't a long process to train a driver to drive a 379 if they can already drive a 387, which makes sense given how similar they are).

I suppose there may be a technical difference between 'trained' and 'cleared for single operation'? I don't know enough about the various hoops that need to be cleared nowadays to tell.

AIUI there were only 11 units available from the timetable change of which only 4, which have been fitted with additional door/train length software (?) and restricted to Kings Cross Cambridge/Kings Lynn as pairs, the remainder where/are only booked to work peak hour Kings Cross Peterborough.

I don't think this particular service was unreliable before it switched to being a 379 though, and suddenly it is extremely unreliable. Quite possibly that's just a coincidence, of course.

So, picking through bits and pieces over the last week or so. I think this is where they all are:-

I think we have 15 units that have been used in passinger service, but 020 has been moved back to Peterbo Nene Sidings and is reported as stored with pan down.

003 arrived at HE takes the number up to 6, which are been prepared for work. If I've missed any working passinger trains let me know.

This leaves 11 at Worksop.
