Reportedly some units in the first class area, the seats and curtains are covered in mould
The curtains are removed from the units prior to passenger service, it was always the plan, and the units are cleaned prior to service.

Don't confuse staining with mould.

Anyone going past Hornsey today I am sure I saw. 020, 021 & 017 (no GN markings) coupled together waiting to go into the depot. Not sure if I miscounted but are they testing 12 car formations?

379020 + 379023 appear to be allocated to 3L48/1L48 which I think may be a new pair for GN if this allocation is correct and I have not already missed their debut?

Would that be 001 & 010?

(Also, off topic I know, but unusual to see a 69 on the ECML South.)
Enjoy it while it lasts. The 69s won’t be going for ETCS fitment anytime soon ;)

On a similar, relevant note, any news of the 379s being fitted with ETCS? It would surely make sense to set one aside as a ’FiC’ unit before it’s pressed back into traffic.

Wait for the 387 FIC first.

Thanks for picking up this move. This is now the location of all 30 units. Getting the units in store at Hornsey and Peterbo Nene Sidings in to traffic would give GTR half the class in operation before they would need to start moving those still at Worksop.

Looks like another pair are going to Wembley today.

Also, I believe that yesterday's run was formed of 1 set, 010 or 001, since there's gonna be another run today.

Not just that! Another set/sets will be heading from Peterborough to Hornsey.

Not sure if already mentioned here, but there appears to be a new Class 379 diagram - 1Q11 went past me as 2x379’s.

They can’t get the ETCS to work apparently.
I found this article from last August saying that it successfully completed dynamic testing

Note that the press release doesn’t state which dynamic testing has been completed. I can’t comment on the 387, but Class 66 is nowhere near ready for mainline testing.
