I've just had my letter through confirming my successful escape from Eastleigh Pway. I am now Leading Trackman at Guildford.
That's 3 people confirmed as escaping from Eastleigh in the last 2 weeks, with at least 3 more attempting it.

Did you use a disguise, or did you just ride to Guildford on a motorbike wearing jeans and a T-shirt?

If you work on the railways plenty (including me) would happily take your place:)

I thought i worked on the railway, but it's been feeling increasingly like a Victorian workhouse lately.
I would go into more detail but it would be lost on the majority of you.

Hmm. Not so long ago you laughed at me and called me a Northerner because I lived more than 20 miles from the the South Coast. You do realise that Guildford is also 20 miles from the South Coast and you will therefore be venturing 'north' for work? At the same time you are claiming Southerners are therefore Victorian, hence your move northwards where you imply things are far more modern and up-to-date.

You really haven't thought this through, have you? :p

And I swear your text stated a location in Berkshire rather than Surrey? :?

And if you are now looking after the tracks in the Guildford area then I guess I shall never be travelling from Farnborough North ever again! I've avoided the lines in and around the Southampton and Pompey suburbs like the plague... ;)

Your average RailUK hic doesn't know where Wokingham is and the Wokingham gang is 6 months away from being ready i am told, so i will be working out of Guildford for 6 months.
Wokingham will be a satelite depot of Guildford just like Fareham is of Eastleigh, so i will come under the Guildford Track Section Manager.
I don't know any of the area limits at the moment, both Wokingham and Guildford {Ala Fareham gang and Eastleigh TSM}, so i might be working at Farnborough Main ;)
The Victorian workhouse i speak of is run by somebody from Burnley {that's the North for all those without an Atlas} and his rule is filtered down. Typical tight fisted Northerner when you compare his opposite numbers at other Southern Region depots.
Finally, it's not the North or the South, it's Outer London. 8-)

If that gang won't be ready for 6 months, who is looking after the track in the meantime?
