hi guys while exploring the great eastern route, i can across the braintree branch, there was a warning board in the track but i continued past it, the line looks like it is being built, the track goes all the way to braintree with a couple of siddings at the end, the overheads are in place to the end as well but the wires are only up for a few miles iirc, so if you go down to explore it use diesel traction, does anyone know why this was not completed or was it only just under construction at this time, when the game is set.

if you want to explore it go to expolre route start at whitham pl4 going towards colchester, as soon as u start moving change the points at the end of the platform and the route will branch of to the right.

The Braintree line was going to be included (like Sudbury and Upminster) in the base product but due to the length of time the route was taking it was decided to leave it out. As you know, the Sudbury and Upminster branches have been released as extra downloads however as far as I know there are no immediate plans to continue with it, or at least not until Irish Enterprise South and Scottish Capital Express have been completed.

As for the Southend Airport trick - that's just plane fun isn't it (mind that awful pun!) The Voyagers you're using look like the older ones. You may wish to try http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=12414

It's basically invisible track, go to Southend Airport in AE and you will see the track.

When you see planes landing in the game, they are actually using the invisible track and are essentially just AI traffic like trains that pass you. If you were to modify the plane's files you could actually drive them, just like you can drive the Wightlink ferry in the Brighton-Portsmouth add-on  In this case though just select "Southend Runway" (heading towards "The Sky") as your starting location.
