That's an awful lot of taxpayers money for 10 days a month, a career politician will probably work their way into the role.

Big organisations often have Chairs like this on similar salaries. Met Police had one come up recently.

The role is more about being able to provide your extensive, senior experience - particularly when it comes to areas like governance and stakeholder management - to key situations and being able to steer an organisation culturally.
