Well that's definitely going to be affordable for the average weekend leisure traveller
That's exactly what i thought!
I'd probably personally want to get a single anyway, and sounds like I would have to pay at least £60 for, vice the cheapest £32.50 on GNER.
TBH, i'd rather have a 91+MK3, pay £32.50, or GNER HST, for slightly more, if it's on a long-distance service which often unsurprisingly sell out alot quicker than KX to Leeds/Newcastle/Edinburgh/Glasgow services.
I have however realised that GNER actually get an HST to form the 11:40 ex Leeds, which is going to be alot cheaper than GC. (That's if GC even start running soon!

:-P)
-Off topic, but-:
I've worked out 3 options for my ECML/MML trip later this month:
£65.05- involving 11:27 ex Sheffield MML, and 14:35 ex Kings Cross,
£87.80- involving 12:52 ex York GNER, and 15:25 ex St Pancras, and
£122.90!- involving 10:27 ex Sheffield, and 13:33 ex Kings Cross-Hull, 16:37 Hull to Manchester Picc.
Does anyone know what usually forms 16:37 ex Hull to Manchester?
The reason why i've included those options, is because none of them include GC travel, yet the most expensive one includes a 3-course meal on HT, which i'd pay £30 on GNER for, but would know i'd get a very good service for. Having said that, if i did go GNER, i'd probably get a buffet voucher, and just get some good quality stuff from the buffet.
